Narain Karthikeyan annexes pole in Nurburging
Narain Karthikeyan continued his fine form in the Auto GP as the Indian clinched his third consecutive pole position at Nurburgring on Friday.
Narain topped the charts with a laptime of 1:18.330 in front of Super Nova team-mate Vittorio Ghirelli. The first race will be held on Saturday and Race 2 on Sunday.
Since switching to David Sears’ Super Nova team prior to the Silverstone meeting in June, Narain has been on a roll — starting the feature races from front row.
A crowd of over 100,000 is expected on race weekend as the venue plays host to DTM — the German Touring Car championship and a host of other junior series.
“My aim is to collect the maximum points through the weekend, as we are 42 points behind in the championship and quickly running out of races,“ said Narain.
TOP-3: 1. Narain Karthikeyan (Super Nova) 1m18.330s; 2. Vittorio Ghirelli (Super Nova) 1:18.542s; 3. Kevin Giovesi (Ghinzani) 1m18.744s.
