11 women rescued from flesh trade
The Subramanyapura police have arrested three people who allegedly trafficked women from Bangladesh after promising them jobs in the city. Eleven women from Bangladesh, Kolkata and other North Indian states, who were forced into flesh trade by the trio, have been rescued.
Police said the arrested are Mohammed Zia alias Zia (30), Sherrief Mir (25), both from Bangladesh, and Rajendra (40) of K.S. Layout in city.
Based on their confession, police rescued 11 women from K.S. Layout, Banaswadi and other areas in the city. Among the rescued, two are from Bangladesh, six from Kolkata, two from Vijayawada and one from Assam. The Bangladeshi women claimed that they were brought to the country by Zia and Mir on the promise of jobs. But they were handed over to the pimp Rajendra who forced them to flesh trade.Cases pertaining to human trafficking and Indian Passport Acts will be registered against Zia and Mir, according to a press release from the office of the police commissioner
