18-year-olds crash car into shop

Two 18-year-old boys sustained critical injuries after they crashed their car into a shop on KR Road on Thursday night. The police suspect that the teenagers, who were driving rashly, were under the influence of alcohol.

Rahul Reddy, son of Nanjunda Reddy – a resident of Shankar Nagar in Bommanahalli –and studying at Dayanada Sagar College, and Gowtham, son of Krishna Kumar – a resident of HSR Layout – and a student at Venkateshwara College, had gone out for a drive in their Honda City car around 11.30 pm. After finishing dinner in Shivajinagar, they were driving back home when they met with the accident.

The police said that Gowtam, who was at the wheel, was driving the car fast and crashed into the shop as he lost control. The building owner, Deepak, informed the Banashankari police, who registered a case.

“The boys have been suffered serious injuries and have been admitted to Bangalore Hospital in Jayanagar. We are yet to verify the documents of the car and also check if they have valid driving licences,” the investigating officer said.
