8 injured brought to city hospital
Eight of the 45 injured in the train accident at Penukonda were brought to the Railway Hospital in city on Tuesday evening in a critical condition. Of the eight, five have sustained severe injuries.
“Doctors are providing them the best of treatment. All of them are stable as of now. If necessary, we will get doctors from other hospitals and or shift them to other hospitals. The eight injured were shifted to our hospital as we have adequate facilities”, said Mr Vinay Mittal, chairman, Indian Railway Board, who was present at the hospital along with Minister of State for Railways, Mr K.H. Muniyappa.
The five critically injured are Durgamma (40) who has sustained a closed fracture of the right femur mid-shaft (leg) who was coming to the city from Koppal, Hulagappa Tuppad (50) with a pelvic bone fracture, Naveen Mitti (17) with a fracture of left tibia mid-shaft, Siddalingappa (32) with a crush injury of his left thumb and Sohen (24) with a closed fracture of left femur mid-shaft (leg). The other three are Yuvraj (45) with a injury to his chest, Eshwarasa (48) with a injury to his chest and cut over frontal scalp and Manjunath (40) with right heel pad avulsion, said Dr Ravi.
