Actor Diganth rams motorist, refuses to pay damage
The Shivajinagar traffic police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against actor Diganth on a complaint by Sayed Zain (21), a resident of Frazer Town in Bengaluru, who claimed that the actor had rammed into his two-wheeler and damaged the vehicle.
Zain, a call centre employee, said the incident took place on June 16 some time between 11:30 pm and 12 am when he parked his bike near Haj camp on Nandidurg Road.
Zain claimed that he was talking on the phone when Diganth, alleged to be under the influence of alcohol, rammed into his two-wheeler while reversing his Fortuner SUV.
The actor, who introduced himself as Akash, came up to him and promised that he would bear the expenses for the damage and gave him the mobile number of his manger.
Zain took his motorbike for repairs on Monday and claimed that the expenses came up to Rs 15,000 and so he called the actor’s manager, who refused to pay.
He finally told Zain that he would not pay more than Rs 5,000 and hung up. Zain then approached the Shivajinagar traffic police and filed a complaint against the actor.
