Bidari goes on 15-day leave, sparks rumours
Has former state police chief Shankar Bidari decided to spend his remaining two-month service on leave? The speculation was triggered by his decision to go on 15-day leave from Saturday. He is due for retirement on May 31.
The state government transferred Mr Bidari to the Karnataka State Police Housing Corporation after the high court upheld a Central Administrative Tribunal order and sought the appointment of A.R. Infant as state DG&IGP.
What might have upset Mr Bidari is that the government did not consider him for DGP-CID or DGP-Fire and Emergency Services department, which are most prized after the state DG&IGP’s post.
In his leave application, however, Mr Bidari has cited personal reasons to go on leave for 15 days.
Some officers close to Mr Bidari said that he may seek voluntary retirement.
