BSY men threatened me: Hiremath
National Committee for Protection of Natural Resources founder president S.R. Hiremath has alleged that he was threatened by loyalists of former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa in connection with the illegal mining case. The Central Empowered Committee (CEC) of the Supreme Court had on Friday recommended a CBI probe into the deals between BSY and mining majors while acting on a petition by Hiremath.
Addressing reporters here on Tuesday, Hiremath said that the names of those who had threatened him will be revealed at an appropriate time after bringing it to the notice of the court. “Two Yeddyurappa loyalists had approached me a few days ago to discuss the illegal mining issue. They also threatened me with dire consequences when I refused to talk with them. I will provide the details to the Supreme Court soon,” Hiremath said.
Claiming to have set three conditions for BSY loyalists before negotiating with them, Hiremath said they include a public apology from BSY for his involvement in corrupt activities, returning all ill-gotten money to the state and surrendering to the court after admitting his mistakes.
