BSY skips poll campaign
Former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa who is likely to be interrogated by the CBI on mining related land scams any time, has decided not to campaign for BJP candidates in the forthcoming Legislative Council elections. Down with viral fever after his granddaughter’s wedding which was attended by several BJP luminaries, BSY is now recuperating at his Dollars Colony residence. Sources close to him said that he is tense over the possibility of custodial interrogation by the CBI which has opposed his bail plea.
Yeddyurapa and his loyalists know that it would be embarrassing for him and the BJP if he is interrogated by the CBI during the poll campaign or taken into custody. The former chief minister also has to attend the Lokayukta court on a regular basis for the hearing of the land denotification cases filed against him. Sources in the party said Mr Yeddyurappa has not been meeting his supporters regularly and has told them that he would not be available for the campaign. Nor has he intimated the BJP state unit regarding his unavailability.
