Cash-for-bail case: Reddy taken to Hyd
Former Minister G. Janardhana Reddy was taken to Hyderabad from Parappana Agrahara prison on a prisoner-on-transit warrant in connection with the cash-for-bail case. A Hyderabad court had issued the warrant against Mr Reddy after the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) filed the chargesheet in the case. The court had issued the warrant for Mr Reddy’s appearance on Tuesday.
The court has also issued warrants against Mr Reddy’s brother and Bellary MLA Somashekhar Reddy and Kampli MLA T.H. Suresh Babu. They are lodged in Cherlapalli jail in Hyderabad. Mr Reddy was brought to Bengaluru from Hyderabad in connection with the Associated Mining Company case filed by the CBI. The ACB has chargesheeted Mr Reddy, his brother and others for trying to secure bail for Mr Janardhan Reddy by bribing a judge.
While being brought out of the prison, Mr Reddy told the media that the transit was an Emergency situation. “This is the highhandedness of bureaucrats. They didn’t inform me about the transit and I have been picked up in an emergency situation. I have done nothing wrong and God is watching all this,” he said.
