CBI sleuths grill BSY for hours in kickbacks case
Even as the State government is on the throes of witnessing a change of guard at the helm backed by a faction supported by former CM B.S. Yeddyurappa, the CBI on Saturday grilled the BJP leader and his son B.Y. Raghavendra for more than six hours.
Following the summons issued by the CBI on Friday, Mr Yeddyurappa and his older son Mr Raghavendra arrived at the CBI office on Bellary Road. They were quizzed by the sleuths for hours about the alleged kickback received by Prerana Educational Trust owned by the family from a mining company whose application for mining lease was pending before Mr Yeddyurappa when he was chief minister.
According to sources, the duo arrived in separate cars in the afternoon at the CBI office. Mr Raghavendra, who is also the MP from Shimoga, was the first one to be quizzed.
