CM to BSY: Don’t politicise drought
Chief Minister D.V. Sadananda Gowda let off some more barbs at his predecessor B.S. Yeddyurappa, saying his administration would accord priority to drought relief programmes than pay heed to advice and report cards of leaders. He also ruled out an immediate Cabinet expansion saying this would happen only after he returns from his month-end visit to Singapore and Japan.
Speaking to media persons after visiting villages in this drought-prone district, the CM said: “My Government is doing its best. So, I am aware of the drought situation, there is no need for a few to politicize the matter,” he retorted when asked whether the government would release Rs 200 crore for creation of employment opportunities in drought-hit areas as suggested by former chief minister Mr Yeddyurappa. On Mr Yeddyurappa’s report card on the drought, he said, “If even common citizens give us such reports, I will accept and do my best”.
