Ex-CM vs ‘Super’ CM: Tu-tu, main-main on
The bad blood between the state’s two former Chief Ministers D.V. Sadananda Gowda and B.S. Yeddyurappa bubbled to the surface again with the younger man on Wednesday accusing his predecessor of trying to fix him in a disproportionate assets case. Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Mr Gowda said, “Mr Yeddyurappa has been trying his best to fix me in an asset case,” adding that he “sent his close associates to the Sullia, Puttur and Mangalore taluk office to collect documents about properties I own.”
Saying he had already filed details of the property and assets he owns with the Lokayukta, Gowda said: “I am not afraid of his desperate attempt to fix me in a case. I hear that based on the documents, Mr Yeddyurappa is likely to get his men to file complaints to the Lokayukta against me.”
Sources close to the two warring BJP leaders said that Mr Gowda’s comments on Wednesday to the electronic media where he took potshots at Mr Yeddyurappa’s record in governance infuriated the Lingayat strongman who drove to the same station and countered the charges. On Tuesday, BSY had lashed out at the statements by Mr Gowda on party veteran Advani’s blog.
