HDK faces probe in another case
The Lokayukta court has ordered investigation into the second private complaint against former CM H.D. Kumaraswamy and others in connection with alleged illegal denotification of land in Halagevaderahalli. The complainant Mahadevaswamy had earlier filed another complaint in which the Lokayukta police had chargesheeted Mr Kumaraswamy and his former cabinet colleague Chennigappa.
The complaint said BDA had notified several acres of land in Halagevaderahalli for the Banashankari 5th Stage Layout. The land in question, on two survey numbers (Survey No. 128 and 137 of 1 acre and 10 guntas and 1 acre and 14 guntas, respectively, totalling 2 acres and 24 guntas) was also part of acquisition. The land owned by Sridevi, Padma and her son Chethan Kumar allegedly sold to Shantha and Rekha Chandrashekar in 2004 for `90 lakh. One of the owners, Padma, filed applications on three occasions for denotification of the land, but it was turned down.
When Mr Kumaraswamy became CM, in 2007 Padma reportedly applied for denotification again and the CM ordered for denotification. Lokayukta special court judge N.K. Sudhindra Rao ordered for investigation and directed the Lokayukta police to submit a report on August 17.
