Jaitley red flag for BSY’s CM change
Concerned that the BJP’s Karnataka unit was once again precipitating a new crisis with a series of meetings called by former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa to push for a new Lingayat CM to be installed by Friday, BJP senior leader Arun Jaitley called BSY on Tuesday evening and asked him to wait for the central unit to make a move.
Mr Jaitley requested BSY not to visit Delhi right now as the party was in the throes of finding a candidate to counter the Congress presidential nominee, reassuring him that the party central leaders had taken serious note on Karnataka affairs. He also asked him to hold off on further meetings. Reports indicate however that BSY plans to host a fourth meeting on Wednesday as he is worried that if the courts recommend his arrest, jail will severely restrict his ability to influence events in the party.
