Mandur to accept waste for 3 months

The BBMP late on Monday evening convinced Mandur residents to allow the Palike to dump garbage at the landfill near their village for another three months.

But the Palike can send not more than 250 lorries of waste per day to the only garbage landfill in the city.

As a quid pro quo, the BBMP promised villagers that health camps will be held in the village once in 15 days.

Mounds of garbage across the city and continuous rains could trigger epidemics in the city, doctors warned.
