MLA Priya Krishna, brother to be probed

An ACMM court on Friday ordered that charges of land grabbing against Govindarajanagar MLA Priyakrishna and his brother should be investigated.

The complainant, Nagaraj, who is a chartered accountant, has alleged that Mr Priya Krishna and another accused hatched a conspiracy and grabbed his 3.20 acres of land at Sajjehalli.

The court asked Ulsoorgate police to register an FIR and start the investigation.

Mr Nagaraj, a resident of Rajajinagar, had bought the land in 2006. The MLA, who was developing the townships and layouts in and around Tavarekere through his real estate company, had allegedly created a fake general power of attorney (GPA) and grabbed the land.

In 2009 and 2010, the MLA also got the land registered in his name with the help of fake documents, Mr Nagaraj alleged, while filing the complaint against Mr Priya Krishna and his brother Pradeep Krishna.

The private complaint was filed before the sixth Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate on Thursday. The police are expected to register an FIR on receiving the order copy.

Mr Priya Krishna and his father M. Krishnappa, the Vijayanagar MLA, are facing a Lokayukta police probe in a private complaint filed against them before Lokayukta special court.

The complainant in that case, Prakash H.C., alleged that the MLA has amassed wealth running into thousands of crores and concealed details of his property while filing the returns before the Lokayukta and Election Commission.

He stated Mr Krishnappa did not disclose that he owned 554 acres of land in and his son 85 acres in Magadi taluk.

The value of this property ran up to `1,000 crore, while the returns filed claim Mr Krishnappa is worth Rs 700 crore.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
