Politicians to get green lessons

As part of the upcoming second Indian Biodiversity Congress (IBC), scheduled in December, ‘Green Politics’ sessions will be organised for politicians to sensitise them about saving the environment.

The sessions aim to veer the political system in the country towards green ideologies, as envisaged by Mahatma Gandhi for achieving conservation and sustainable development.

The interactive meeting of politicians, conservationists and civil society will discuss strategies and action plan to bring in green agenda in political parties.

Leading politicians, conservationists and civil society groups will air their views on the future of green politics in India.

On Friday, Dr Vaman Acharya, Chairman, State Pollution Control Board, released the brochure for the premier event that will be held at the J.N. Tata Auditorium at Indian Institute of Science. The seminar will have around 1,000 delegates.
