Sadananda Gowda-Yeddyurappa rift takes a new turn
The rift between former chief ministers B S Yeddyurappa and D.V. Sadananda Gowda has taken a new turn with the latter complaining to the party’s central leadership that his predecessor has hatched a conspiracy to fix him in a case of illegal assets.
In a letter to general secretary in-charge of Karnataka, Dharmendra Pradhan, Mr Gowda has charged that Mr Yeddyurappa and his aide and co-operation minister B.J. Puttaswamy were trying to malign his reputation by prompting a woman to lodge a complaint of disproportionate assets against him.
“Former chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa has given instruction to his aide B.J. Puttaswamy to collect documents pertaining to my moveable and immovable assets in Sulia, and Puttur and Mangalore,” Mr. Gowda has stated in his letter to Mr Pradhan.
Mr. Gowda has also said that he has sufficient proof that documents of his assets were with Mr Yeddyurappa. “Some people in the party are planning to file a private case through a lady. A minister is also involved in this.
So, it is left to the central leadership to take action against them,” Mr Gowda reportedly said in the letter.
Confirming to Deccan Chronicle that he has written to Mr Dharmendra Pradhan, Mr Sadananda Gowda said “it is purely an internal matter of the party, and between me and my party leader.
I cannot disclose the contents of the letter. If I disclose the contents of letter to the media, the letter will lose its sanctity. I do not wish to discuss my letter to party in-charge Dharmendra Pradhan in public”, Mr Gowda added.
