Sree’s second yatra from today
BSR Congress chief and former minister B. Sreeramulu offered special pooja at Kanaka Durgamma temple here on the eve of his 1,300 km-long “Swabhimani Sankalpa Yatre” from Karwar to Ramanagaram, commencing on Sunday.
Addressing people outside the temple, the Bellary strongman said on completion of the eight-day trip across 45 Assembly constituencies, he would set out from Belgaum to cover all the 224 Assembly segments in order to expand the base of his fledgling party ahead of next year’s elections to the Legislative Assembly.
“I won’t be available in Bellary for the next six months. So, kindly co-operate and work on your own to build the party in the district”, he added.
He said during his trip from Karwar to Ramanagaram, he would gain first-hand information on problems of the poor in coastal and Malnad regions of Karnataka, particularly in view of the delayed monsoon this year. The Bellary strongman would address conventions at Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Udupi, Mangalore, Madikeri, Mysore, Chamarajanagar and Mandya during the eight-day journey which he would undertake in a specially designed bus.
