A 26-year-old woman, the daughter of Deputy Superintendent of Police Gejjappa, attached to the Revenue Task Force, ended her life by hanging from a ceiling fan at her residence on JP Nagar 7th Main under Hulimavu police limits on Sunday. Police have identified the deceased as Manasa, wife of Mr Mohan Kumar, a software engineer working in Australia. The deceased was a software engineer employed with HP.
The incident took place around 12.30 pm on Saturday when her parents were in Chitradurga to attend a family function. Manasa had also gone along with for the function on Friday, but returned on Saturday evening along with her brother. On Sunday, her brother went to Tumkur to bring his parents back and Manasa ended her life when no one was at home. The incident came to light around 2 pm on Sunday when two of Manasa’s friends, who went to her residence to visit her, noticed her body hanging from the ceiling fan. They immediately informed the police. Police said she had left behind a suicide note addressed to her parents which read, “Thank you for the life you have given me. I do not want to live any more, so I am ending my life. I do not want to hold anyone responsible for my death.”
Manasa was married two-and-a-half years ago and had a two-year-old daughter. Her in-laws live in Mysore and she was living with her parents as her husband is in Australia. She may have been depressed over this, police said. Hulimavu police have registered a case of unnatural death. In the other incident a 23-year-old woman allegedly ended her life by hanging at her residence at BEML Layout near Rajarajeshwari Nagar on Saturday night. The incident came to light only on Sunday morning.
Police have identified the deceased as Nagaveni, a native of Anchepalya in Bidadi, who was working in the Accounts department at the sub-registrar’s office at Kengeri. Nagaveni had recently completed her BBM and had joined work three months back. Police say Nagaveni was living alone in a rented house in Rajarajeshwari Nagar. On Saturday morning, she visited her native place, where she had a quarrel with her brother Manjunath over a property issue. She returned home on Saturday evening and later called one of her friends to tell her that she was ending her life as she was upset.
Her friend informed Nagaveni’s family, who informed the police early on Sunday. Police broke open the door only to find Nagaveni hanging from the ceiling. She had left behind a suicide note stating that no one was responsible for her death.
