Teen killed in road accident

A 16-year-old boy who violated all traffic rules by riding a two wheeler, was involved in an accident which killed his friend who was riding pillion. A BMTC bus knocked them down from behind near Sajjan Rao circle on Wednesday. The police have identified the deceased as Renuka Prasad (15) son of Balakrishna a dairy shop owner residing at Kalasipalya.

According to the police the deceased was going along with his friend Aakash to Banashankari to meet his relatives. Aakah had borrowed the vehicle of his cousin. He was not wearing a helmet and was riding the bike without any insurance, registration certificate or a driving license. The accident took place when Aakash was trying to overtake the bus which was turning left. Not noticing the 2 wheeler, the bus driver knocked them down. Both Aakash and Renuka Prasad sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital. However Renuka Prasad succumbed to injuries at a private hospital. The Chamarajpet Traffic police who registered the case have arrested the bus driver Sayed Hussain. Aakash is undergoing treatment in a hospital, and the police are investigating the case.
