‘Akshay had no say in Replayy dates’
Just a few days after rumours sprouted of producer Vipul Shah planning a post-Diwali release of his upcoming film Action Replayy, after Akshay Kumar convinced him to do so, Shah has come out openly saying that Akshay had no say in the decision.
Clarifying his stance on the change of dates, Shah says that there is no truth in the reports, and that he is still up for a Diwali release. “The release date has completely been my call. Akshay has not interfered in it,” he says.
It was reported earlier that Akshay, who is also the co-producer of the film called Shah from London to postpone the Diwali release of the film. The reports, which appeared in a trade magazine didn’t go down well with Shah, also the director of the film.
Shah says that he was really surprised to read the stories about Akshay convincing him to change the release dates. “I was surprised when I read that Akshay convinced me to release the film on November 5. I hope this ends all these speculations and rumours,” he says.
Vipul and Akshay have delivered several hits together right from Aankhen, Waqt — Race Against Time, Namastey London and Singh is Kinng. This time around they united for Action Replayy also starring Aishwarya Rai.
