‘Colin is a great friend’

The Oscars may be over, but Abhishek Bachchan’s fascination for Colin Firth is just getting started. Everybody knows that ever since the Junior B walked the red carpet at the Oscars with Aishwarya Rai, the couple has been in awe of The King’s Speech actor and they even went ahead and expressed their desire of inviting him to Mumbai.
“Yes, Colin a great friend and he is always welcome to Mumbai. He will come when he is ready and I can’t say anymore than that on a public platform,” said Abhishek during a promotional event.
Quickly changing the subject, he goes on to talk about his endorsements. But what he went on to say was just about as believable as his “superstar” status. “I am not a celebrity, who endorses some 10,000 products. Like my films, I only endorse the products that I believe in. And thankfully all the products are high quality and I use all of them, including the network, the soap and the watch,” he said.
Without deviating for long, Abhishek quickly got back to the endorsement cause he was there for. Trying hard to draw a parallel with the common man, the actor said, “I like to watch news and sports to unwind myself. Like every middle class family, we all sit at home and watch cricket. And when my wife (Aishwarya) wants the remote to herself, I prefer to record the show so that I can watch it later.”
