‘I had to unlearn a lot of things’
Arjun Rampal’s Bollywood innings have finally come of age. With several consecutive hits, Arjun is now looking forward to better opportunities. And the success of his most recent box office outing Housefull, has ensured that the actor will get those opportunities.
Now, Prakash Jha’s Rajneeti is slated for release, and the actor is understandably excited. “This film is very close to my heart,” says Arjun. He explains, “At a time when people were not taking me seriously as an actor, Prakash Jha approached me to play the character of Bheem, five years ago. He then disappeared, only to resurface four years later, having done some meticulous research and finally ready to make the film. I enjoyed playing the role, and I made great friends with the entire starcast.”
Arjun admits that Rajneeti has indeed been an ambitious and difficult film. “I had to unlearn a lot of things. The beauty of the character I got to play was unlearning and yet, learning a lot in the process of completing the movie,” says Arjun.
Arjun plays Ranbir’s elder brother in Rajneeti. He reveals, “My character is very impulsive. He thinks from the heart, talks very fast and either loves you or hates you.”
