‘No issues about raids’

The income tax woes just don’t seem to end for actress Priyanka Chopra. After being harrowed by the income tax officials for the whole of last week, Priyanka is now coming out and defending herself. At the music launch of 7 Khoon Maaf, she cleared the air and refuted all the rumours surrounding the raids. Apart from being one of the highest income tax payers in Bollywood, Priyanka has now joined the league of people, who have faced raids from the IT department.
“It’s more of flattery. I actually feel proud as most of the celebrities are on the list. I have nothing to worry about since I have co-operated very well with them, and have no issues if they come to raid my place. They are doing their duty while I am doing mine. It’s as simple as that. About the reports of having `6 crores at my home, I don’t know where this news came from. I have never seen so much money and it was unsubstantial news. I only wish before making it to the headlines everybody could have got it confirmed from me,” says Priyanka.
More than the IT raids, it was the alleged beau Shahid Kapur’s presence at her house that scorched the headlines. But unfazed by the reports, Priyanka says, “My mother, who lives with me was not at home and since the income tax officers came early in the morning, I asked Shahid for his help as he lives nearby. So I asked him to come home immediately.”
