2012 is Emraan’s year: Trade gurus

Once considered capable of enticing the audiences only in tier two towns, 2012 may well be the year Emraan Hashmi proves otherwise. Trade watchers are predicting that with his latest crop of films, Emraan will have worked his way into the Top 10 actors’ league in B’town. “Leaving aside the Khan trio (Aamir, Salman, Shah Rukh), veterans like Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and to a certain extent Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, Emraan could definitely be fighting it out for a slot among the top 10,” says a veteran trade analyst.
Emraan’s line-up certainly seems promising. The Dirty Picture arrives this December, followed by Shanghai, Jannat 2 and Raaz 3. “He has also been signed on for Vishal Bhardwaj’s Daayan — despite Rani Mukherjee’s displeasure over the same. That proves Emraan has arrived!” our source adds.
