‘24 needs all my attention’
It was announced some time ago that Anil Kapoor would be playing the protagonist in a Hollywood film titled Cities. However, delays in the shooting plans for the Orlando Bloom-Kirsten Dunst starrer means Anil may have to let it go to make room for his pet project 24.
“Anil Kapoor has been excited about Cities right from the start. It’s a huge film which got unfortunately delayed for quite some time. In fact, there was a time when it was not even known if the film would progress any further. But now that things are back on track, Anil is apprehensive regarding his dates. His TV series 24 is expected to go on the floors in February. He will have to shoot non-stop till July. So, in case Cities requires his dates in this period, it would be an issue”, says a source.
Cities is a thriller that brings together three different stories from London, Mumbai, and New York. Even though Anil’s story is set in Mumbai, it is highly unlikely that the actor would be juggling his dates between the film and 24, which would also be shot in Mumbai.
Says Kapoor, “Well, I am in touch with the makers of Cities. The good part is that the film is happening and gaining good momentum. But I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that it does not clash with 24. Because if that happens, then I will have give up Cities as I need to give 24 my time and attention. That would be unfortunate though.”
Well, but sometimes one has to make a choice.
