Aamir’s hiring script

Aamir Khan is on a hiring spree for office staff. But no, it’s not because he’s firing the existing employees at his production house. Instead he’s hiring people who can read scripts. The reason: His office is flooded with them and the actor simply does not have the time to go through each one himself.
With the kind of films Aamir has produced so far, including Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par, Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na and now Peepli Live, it’s hardly surprising that the actor is being inundated by writers’ requests to look at their scripts in his capacity as a producer.
While several scripts are sent for his perusal in an actor’s capacity, the majority are intended for Aamir the producer, especially as he has proved his acumen several times over.
A source revealed, “Aamir Khan Productions gets between eight and 10 scripts a day. While Aamir can’t read each one himself, he likes to at least shortlist and respond to writers. Since there are just too many scripts, he wants to hire people who have knowledge and are good judges of scripts. They must also be able to shortlist ones with promise.”
