Aamir’s subtle gift

What’s up Delhi?” shouted Akshay, addressing the crowd at Ansal Plaza, while he was in the city recently along with actress Katrina Kaif and Farah Khan for the promotion of their film Tees Mar Khan releasing today.
Although Farah complained about the thanda response from the audience present there, Akshay made no regrets calling Delhi his favourite city. “I think Delhi has the most happening crowd. And as I’m a dilliwala from Chandni Chowk, I always find reasons to visit this place,” he added.
Unlike the film promotion earlier by Akshay, this one remained quite low on the fun factor.
While svelte Katrina, who looked smashing in a black dress did some jhatkas with her fans on the track Sheila Ki Jawani, Akshay and Farah were the ones, who interacted with everyone present. But Kats won many hearts with her smile and of course her accent. “Sheila Ki Jawani will always remain close to my heart for the rest of my life,” she said in Hindi.
When Farah was asked about the response she is expecting from the film, since for the last few years it’s Aamir Khan’s movie that released on Christmas, she wittily replied, “Really, I how come I never noticed this? Well, then I should thank Aamir Khan for this. Aamir has become my real Santa Claus, who has given me a gift of not releasing any of his films this year.”
Akshay Kumar who is playing a notorious con man in the film talked about a fun prank that he played on Farah recently. “Although I’m notorious all the time, this time I wanted to have fun with Farah. So I sent a text ‘kiss me’ from Farah’s mobile to Arbaaz Khan. It was fun to see Arbaaz’s response later,” he said.
To this Akshay further added that he loves to do comedy films. “I think laughter and fun should be a part of everyone’s life, but it should not hurt anybody’s sentiments. That’s why I prefer to do more mindless comedy films. Sad things are on everyday in the news and on TV,” he added.
Although Katrina shared screen space with Salman in another item number in TMK, but in response to who is a better co-star, she preferred Akshay over Salman.
“To be honest Salman and I haven’t done a big movie together. Whereas Akshay and I have done seven movies. So keeping that in mind it is only fair that Akshay gets the better co-star’s title,” she adds.
And about Salman embarrassing Katrina on Big Boss 4, she clarifies, “Salman and I have known each other for a while now. I know when he is pulling my leg and when he is serious. So, on the sets of Bigg Boss, it was all done in a good humour.” She added that after Yuvraaj she will only do a film with Salman, if it’s something different rather from a routine love story.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
