Aamir looks towards Marathi for his next?
Apart from improving his culinary skills, it is a known fact that Aamir Khan is busy honing his language skills right from Urdu to Marathi. The actor has been busy taking lessons from the tutors whom he has hired. But not many are aware about Mr Perfectionist’s plans beyond doing so. We’ve learnt from our reliable sources that Aamir wants to produce a Marathi film under his banner.
Has the unofficial mentor in Amitabh Bachchan inspired him to do this after egging Aamir to join Twitter? It may be recalled that Bachchan’s ABCL has also produced a Marathi film Vihir (A well). The film received a lot of critical acclaim across international festivals.
Aamir has taken his role as a producer seriously with Peepli Live all set for release, his Delhi Belly on the anvil as well as wife Kiran Rao’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghat in the coming months.
The actor has not signed any films this year and has said that he is planning to make the most of his time as a producer by learning cooking, swimming along with regional languages like Marathi and Urdu.
“I can speak Urdu my mother tongue fluently, but cannot read and write the language. I appreciate regional languages and diverse Indian cultures. I have a lot to learn and would like to make films on these different cultures,” he said. Until then, we’ll wait for Aamir to make some announcements.
