Aamir opts out yet again

Aamir Khan famously shies away from award ceremonies, so we were pleasantly surprised when he decided to make an exception for the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards. But it was not to be. Staying true to form, Aamir did ditch the ceremony, and even the presence of thespians like Amitabh Bachchan and Dilip Kumar wasn’t enough to convince him to do otherwise.

Aamir announced that he would be making an exception for this one, mainly because of these cinematic legends. So what made him do otherwise? “We had informed the organisers that Aamir wouldn’t be available for the event on Thursday, as he was required for a shoot,” says his spokesperson. “We had also sent them an official mail apologising for him not being able to make it.”
Considering the meticulous planning that goes behind Aamir’s schedules, it is indeed surprising how the lapse happened.
