Aamir proves his point about Talaash

Aamir Khan is heaving a sigh of relief. For multiple reasons. Firstly, the promo of his upcoming film Talaash has met with a great response from the junta. And there’s another big burden off him — that of having to give clarifications that the film is not an attempt at being another Kahaani.

“When Talaash was earlier supposed to release in the month of June, Vidya Balan’s Kahaani had already released and some mischief mongers had started spreading rumours that the two films were very similar. They had begun to draw parallels between the three principal characters in the two films,” informs a source. They went on to say that Aamir’s character was playing the same part as Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Kahaani. “Aamir was deeply disturbed by these rumours and it only got worse when the film’s release was postponed to November owing to Aamir’s show Satyameva Jayate which had to arrive first.
“The new promos however have quashed the semblance of any similarity between the movies and Aamir is mighty thrilled about that. It is now clear that the film is about some mysterious accidents that take place at one common spot and Aamir is investigating the case. Kareena Kapoor’s character helps him in his quest and incidentally, Nawazuddin plays the part of a small-time crook,” informs a senior unit member.
Even though Aamir is currently shooting for Dhoom 3 in Chicago, the perfectionist is constantly clued in to the response that the Talaash promo is generating back home.
We don’t expect any less from him.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
