AB receives a birthday surprise

After a temporary lull, Abhishek Bachchan’s performance in Bol Bachchan has once again made filmmakers sit up and take notice of the junior Bachchan’s star power. Apparently Bhushan Kumar, head honcho of T-Series, walked into AB’s office a few days before the actor’s birthday (which he celebrates today) to give him a birthday present of sorts.

“His present for AB was the script of his upcoming film. Bhushan was keen on working with Abhishek for a long time. And since his birthday was round the corner, the timing couldn’t have been better,” says a source close to Bhushan.

The film will be directed by Umesh Shukla (of Oh My God fame) and will be Abhi’s first solo lead film after the disastrous Drona. Abhishek accepted the offer immediately after he was given a narration. The makers of the film are yet to finalise the female lead.
“It was a pleasant surprise for Abhishek. The newer lot of films will help AB bounce back,” adds the source. The shooting of the film will start in June.
