Abhay pairs with a new director

Abhay Deol has always been inspired by Aamir Khan. From taking very calculated risks to being choosy about the roles, both Abhay and Aamir have taken a very unconventional route to stardom. Aamir worked with filmmakers like Ashutosh Gowarikar (Lagaan) and Rakeysh Mehra (Rang De Basanti) when other actors didn’t trust their kind of cinema. So far, Abhay too seems to be walking the same trail.

“He worked with Anurag Kashyap and Imtiaz Ali before they became the celebrated filmmakers that they are today. Abhay has always followed his gut and not the trends of the industry. And it has worked for him,” says Abhay’s spokesperson.
The Deol man is back at it — all set to take another risk. He has signed a film called One By Two with debutante director Devika Bhagat, who has been a writer for Yash Raj Films. “Abhay has always encouraged new directors and doesn’t fear taking risks with his choice of roles,” says a source.
