Abhi-Ash to give Iifa a miss

Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan are likely to skip the Iifa Weekend to be held in the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo next month.
The couple is already to committed to other shoots and will not be able to attend the Iifa event. Abhishek will be shooting for Abhinay Deo’s Game in Turkey and Ash will be travelling to Paris in the first week of June to promote a French watch brand that she endorses, her spokesperson said.
That leaves only Amitabh Bachchan, who has been the brand ambassador for Iifa all these years. Speculation was rife that he also would not attend the event as a Tamilian group had protested outside his house, as they did not want the Iifa event to be held in Sri Lanka.
However, Wizcraft International Entertainment director Sabbas Joseph said that Bachchan Sr would be hosting the event as usual. “Such incidents do not worry us. We are taking all precautions as far as Mr Bachchan’s safety is concerned,” he said.
Bachchan Sr however, has not made any statement about his schedule so far. The Iifa is scheduled between June 3 and 5 in Colombo.
