Abhishek, Sanjay, Nana in Hera Pheri

This is one movie that seems to draw laughs with every sequel. Hera Pheri started out with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. Now, in its latest avatar, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Nana Patekar will be seen essaying the lead roles. Hera Pheri 4 is on the anvil and it will be directed by Anees Bazmee.
The film will go on floors next month. Confirming the news Abhishek Bachchan said, “Yes, I have signed the film and we will start shooting next month.”
Fans of the Hera Pheri series will be disappointed that the funny trio of Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal will not be acting in the fourth part of this comic caper. Abhishek will replace Akshay, Sanjay Dutt will reprise Suniel Shetty’s role and Nana Patekar will be essaying Paresh Rawal’s role.
The original stars — Akshay, Suneil and Paresh — were supposed to be a part of the film but their dates were not available. Sources say that the trio has now lost interest in the series. Hence, director Anees Bazmee decided to rope in a new cast for the movie. Confirming our news director Anees Bazmee said, “Yes I have signed Abhishek, Sanjay and Nana but they have not replaced Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty or Paresh Rawal. The subject is entirely new and will be written according to my sensibilities.”
When asked who be will be playing the female lead opposite the heroes the director informs, “We have not yet signed any heroine for the movie. We are working on it and will be making the announcements soon.”
He adds, “It will be a rip-roaring comedy like the earlier series. Right now, I am busy shooting for Ready with Salman and Asin and as soon as we complete this series, we will start shooting for Hera Pheri 4. I am also planning a sequel to No Entry and the scripting work is in progress.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
