Aditi’s tale of 3 cities

She has worked with some of Bollywood’s biggest directors like Rakeysh Mehra, Sudhir Mishra and Imtiaz Ali and yet, many will find it difficult to recollect Aditi Rao Hydari. However, one hopes things will start looking up for the actress post her upcoming film London Paris New York.

An Anu Menon film, London Paris New York is a romcom that chronicles the life of a young couple in three of the most beautiful cities in the world. The film’s promo has already created quite a buzz on YouTube, and even the likes of Karan Johar were seen tweeting about it. “The film has Aditi paired along with Ali Zafar and the promo has seen a fantastic response on the social networking sites,” informs a source attached to the film.
“No one channelled her talent after Delhi 6. She also received a lot of praises for her uninhibited act in Yeh Saali Zindagi, but somehow she has always been slotted in slightly elderly roles. With Rockstar, she was led into believing that it was her chance to get into the big league, with a promise of being paired opposite Ranbir Kapoor. But in the end, her role was chopped to such an extent that it merely qualified as a cameo,” adds an insider.
“Aditi has finally gone chic and stylish for London Paris New York,” says a source, adding, “Now one just hopes that there is much more to her than what one sees in the promo. It is always a welcome sign to see an outsider making a mark, and if Aditi manages that with London Paris New York, Bollywood would be happy to embrace a new leading lady.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
