Aditya caught in a dilemma
After playing small roles in films like Action Replay and Guzaarish, Aditya Roy Kapoor struck gold with his first solo-hero film Aashiqui 2. The film has crossed the glorified Rs 100-crore mark, giving Aditya plenty of reasons to celebrate.
His next film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, hits the theatres today even as the celebrations for Aashiqui 2 continue. However, the young actor is caught in a dilemma as in YJHD he plays second fiddle to Ranbir Kapoor.
“The original idea was to release Aashiqui 2 after Yeh Jawaani… but that didn’t happen,” says Aditya’s close associate. So does the idea of playing the second lead perturb him? “Ranbir is a friend and we had a great time shooting for the film. But certainly, now the idea is to be more careful about my work,” Aditya says. The newcomer feels there is no dearth of good scripts in the industry but he is in no hurry. “I haven’t signed any new film as yet,” he says. He’s also looking forward to the lucrative arena of brand endorsements. “An actor’s popularity is what makes him big on endorsements. I’d love to be associated with quality brands,” he says.
