Ajay rules
Call it the Singham effect, but nobody dares to take on Ajay Devgn anymore. Ajay is enjoying such a standing in the industry today that his films have almost no competition coming close. Even his next film Rascals, which is slotted for a Dussehra opening, could see a solo release.
“Slowly but certainly, all releases planned during Dussehra have been moved away,” says a trade observer. “Making matters worse is that just three weeks after Rascals’ release comes Shah Rukh’s Ra.One on Diwali.”
Incidentally, Ajay himself had planned to release Rascals on Diwali as the day has been lucky for him. However, a veteran in this game, he wisely decided to avoid clashing with SRK’s Ra.One, something that would have disastrous for both. “It’s not an ego clash here,” says a close associate of Ajay, rubbishing any theories to that effect. “Everything has fallen in place for Ajay, who is enjoying a great run after Singham, Golmaal 3, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Once Upon A Time In Mumbai etc.”
