Akki reminds Al of Godfather days

He worked with Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richards, and now Akshay Kumar seems to have caught the attention of Hollywood legend Al Pacino. The Scarface and Godfather actor has apparently been watching a few Bollywood films with his business partner Barry Navidi, and came across one of Akki’s as well. “Mr Pacino and Barry are aware of the major transformation that Indian cinema is going through. Barry happened to mention Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara to Mr Pacino because of some its similarities with The Godfather,” shared one industry source.
Apparently, Mr Pacino then watched the promo of Once… online and agreed that it does have a certain resemblance to his film, The Godfather. “My friend Barry Navidi showed me a promo for an Indian gangster film with Akshay Kumar. It brought back some fond memories from my Godfather days,” said Mr Pacino.
With common managers for Hollywood and Bollywood actors, it isn’t surprising that Indian cinema is increasingly being showcased to film industry bigwigs from the West.
As for Akshay, we hear that the actor professed he was deeply grateful for and humbled by Mr Pacino’s comments, when he was informed about the incident.
