Akon’s lessons in Hindi

With Chammak Challo playing on all the television channels to a great response from fans, we’re sure the composers Vishal-Shekhar are now breathing easy. Apart from its catchy beat, the song has generated a lot of interest because of Akon’s near-perfect rendering of the Hindi lyrics. But Vishal-Shekhar say it was a breeze getting the international icon to mouth the peppy words. “It was really easy for Akon,” says Vishal. “When we told him that he had to sing in Hindi, he was really excited. Once he got the Hindi lyrics, he started singing the lines fluently. It took him only three-four hours to get the words right.”
We only have one complaint: We wish we could have seen Akon groove with Kareena to the number. Now that would have been some awesome Chammak Challo!
