Akshay is the next don after Emraan
Looks like the sequel of Once Upon A Time in Mumbai will be more action-packed than the original film itself. After all, it has to be, as the original action hero Akshay Kumar will mostly be essaying the role of the don, if rumours are to be believed.
After working with Ajay Devgn in the successful Once Upon A Time In Mumbai, Milan Luthria has roped in Akshay Kumar for the film’s ambitious sequel. Akshay and Milan have worked earlier in Mahesh Bhatt’s Angaaray (1998), in which Milan was an assistant director. Apparently, Akshay loved Milan’s handling of Once Upon A Time In Mumbai.
Buzz is that Akshay will play an older version of the same character Emraan played in the original. Milan reveals, “In the sequel, the story jumps ahead to a time when the new don is at his peak. He is older and in his 40s. That is why Akshay was chosen for the role.”
It seems like the success of his last film has worked well for Milan. He has finally arrived in the industry with top stars acting for him. He also got the talented Vidya Balan to act in Dirty Pictures based on Silk Smitha’s life. Way to go Milan!
