One always knew Rowdy Rathore was going to be high on action, but it’s only now that we’re realising how it’s the absolute highlight of the film. “Close to half a dozen sequences were conceived by Akshay Kumar and director Prabhu Deva, and while glimpses of a few have been revealed in the promos, a lot more have been hidden from the audience,” says a member of the technical crew.
What’s more, they are also keen on keeping the action sequences raw and desi, at a time when Bollywood makers are busy trying to incorporate stylised Western influences in their stunts. “Prabhu Deva had last made Wanted, which was an action film that released six years ago. It’s been similarly long since Akki did such stunts. So they both sat down Rowdy Rathore’s action director and added a lot more spice to the ‘dhishoom dhishoom’ sequences,” informs a source.
