Ali moves from funny to intense
Ali Zafar has had enough of comedies. After making us laugh in Tere Bin Laden and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, the actor wants to try his hand playing a grey character now, and his role in his next film London Paris New York serves his purpose.
A senior crew member says, “Yes, the audience will get to see a different Ali in this film. In fact, ironically, it’s in the romantic city of Paris when Ali’s character takes a dark turn. It was initially tough for him to step into that zone, but he has managed to pull it off well.” The rest of film explores a certain kind of intensity in his character, which was hitherto unseen in his previous screen personas. “There is as much anger and angst in the film as love and laughter. But everything happens for a reason, and yes, I do get into a darker space for the first time with his film,” admits the actor.
