Ali to play the lead in Chashme Badhoor

That David Dhawan is planning to remake the 1981 Farooque Sheikh-Deepti Naval-starrer Chashme Badhoor is well known. But the director has recently settled on just who he wants as the male lead in the remake. Apparently, the director wants the talented Ali Zafer of Tere Bin Laden to essay the role Farooque did in the original.
A source revealed, “David is busy shooting for Rascals in Bangkok, but is simultaneously working on the Chashme Badhoor remake as well. He has approached Ali to play the lead role as he feels the young actor is apt for the part. He has look and the innocence that Farooque had during the 80s.”
David and Ali have already started talking about the project. “David and Ali are in negotiations, but don’t want to talk about it just yet,” the source added. “David feels that the classic film would be very popular even today, although he intends to set it in contemporary times.”
