Anil wants to keep things real
He may have been around in the industry for over two decades now but Anil Kapoor believes in no shortcuts. After a successful stint in Hollywood, Anil, who will return to home turf with Shootout At Wadala, doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned to ensure this is his best work till date.
The actor, who essays the character of inspector Isaaq in the film, asked producer Ekta Kapoor and director Sanjay Gupta to retain the essence of the character. “He wanted to wear the same uniform that the inspector wore during the operation. So a lot of props that Anil used in the film belonged to Isaaq sir,” says a unit member.
Anil’s request wasn’t an easy one to keep. But Ekta put her team on the job to ensure the demands were met. “It did take a while to arrange for the uniform and other props. But when we see the results today, we feel the running around was worthwhile,” says a source from the production team.
Let’s hope the authenticity brings real returns.
