Anurag buries hatchet with Bachchans
Barely a year ago, Anurag Kashyap was up in arms against the Bachchans and their attempts to release their Khelien Hum Jee Jaan Sey before Kashyap’s own film Chittagong, though the latter — also based on the same topic — was completed first. However, he now seems to have buried the hatchet.
Anurag is also pairing up with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to ensure the film hits the marquee. “Anurag had seen Chittagong long ago and he was convinced of its cinematic excellence. The worry was after Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey flopped in a big way, not many were expected to show any interest in Chittagong either,” informs a source.
Chittagong, as also KHJJS, is based on the Chittagong uprising. When the latter released last year, Anurag had openly ranted against the Bachchans using their massive clout in the industry to push their film ahead. However, it all seems to be in the past now. “One full year has gone by, and the makers can leave the controversy behind them and start afresh. And in any case, the two films have turned out to be quite different,” the source adds. Especially with Anurag and Rakeysh pulling their weight behind it, the film is expected to do quite well.
