Anurag rebuts allegations

Anurag Kashyap hasn’t taken too kindly to being dragged into a controversy by indie filmmaker Shilpa Munikempanna. Shilpa wrote a scathing open letter, accusing Anurag of unceremoniously dropping her from a short film competition recently.

Anurag was among the panel of judges who were selecting the final entrants to the competition. The panel also included director Sudhir Mishra.
Responding to the allegations, Anurag wryly tweeted, “Well I have become the system now… What a powerful letter… But my job was to choose filmmakers and give a story seed… Rest no idea…” Anurag later added, “You could have opted out before but you didn’t...thanks for the free publicity.”
