Arjun dedicates his first award to ‘Salman bhai’
Arjun Kapoor was elated when he got selected for the Best Debut award at the Zee Cine Awards recently. The actor who got the award for his performance in Ishaqzaade had to share the honour with Ayushmann Khurrana who bagged the award for Vicky Donor.
When Arjun came on stage to receive the award, the young actor couldn’t contain his emotions. An eyewitness says, “He looked at his father Boney Kapoor who was sitting in the front row with Sridevi and said, ‘Dad, this one’s for you’.” Arjun went on to acknowledge his late mother Mona Kapoor also. He said, “My journey wouldn’t be complete without my mother...” But it is his acknowledgement of his mentor Salman Khan that was the highlight of his speech. “I want to dedicate this award to Salman Khan. I was not ready or anywhere close to being an actor. But he saw something in me and till today I am wondering what it was — he has never told me. But I am ever so grateful to him for all that he has done for me. So, if this is anybody’s award, it is Salman bhai’s. Thank you Salman bhai,” said an emotional Arjun.
We’re sure the Dabangg Khan has taken note.
