Arjun plays down young brigade talks
It’s been a while since we’ve had an addition to the “young brigade” club of Bollywood. The last entrant was Ranveer Singh two years ago, and it was Ranbir Kapoor and Imran Khan before him. So when Ishaqzaade introduced us to Arjun Kapoor last week, fans eagerly looked forward to him challenging the likes of Ranveer and Ranbir. Arjun, though, says he’s not looking at competing with them and he’s happy in his own zone.
Arjun, it seems, is wary of such comparisons. “When that happens, it will happen. Comparisons are inevitable, but it has never bothered him,” says a close associate. “The movie has worked but even if it hadn’t, Arjun wouldn’t have been bogged down. He understands that it’s only the media which pits actors opposite each other.”
“I know Ranbir since I was a kid and be it him or Imran or Shahid, they are all doing wonderfully in the position they are in. If I’m being spoken of in the same breath as them, it’s great, but it’s also unfair to get into a comparison mode. Right now, I want to enjoy Ishaqzaade, not think of these matters,” Arjun says.
